    [About the wine].

    Made exclusively from Agiorgitiko grapes, Midden Agan has a clear, dark ruby color with a bouquet of cozy spices and aromas of dried nuts, strawberries and blackberries. It is velvety smooth and round, with a long finish and fruity aromas. It is best served at 16-18℃.

    The name of this wine comes from the well-known motto of the ancient Greek oracle of Delphi, which means "nothing in excess." Meden Agan is derived from "meden" (meaning "zero, nothing") and "agan" (an adverb meaning "in excess"). Meden Agan" and "Gnothi Safton" (know thyself), inscribed on the walls of the Temple of Apollo in Oracle, was one of the basic principles of the ancient Greek spirit.

    This wine, which bears the name meaning "truth is in the middle, not excess or deficiency," is also one of the most perfectly balanced in taste and aroma, just as its name suggests.

    Papandonis Winery, founded in 1992 by brother and sister Antonis and Cary Papandonis, is located in the southern part of the old Greek town of Argos. The vineyards, located just outside the village of Malandreni, belong to the famous viticultural region of Nemea, and continue to produce high quality wines worthy of the famous Agiorgitiko region. Antonis Papandonis acquired the vineyard in 1979, finding the life of growing grapes and making wine in nature far more fulfilling than life in the city. after more than a decade of experience in viticulture and winemaking, he grasped the market and, together with his sister Cary's unique After more than a decade of viticulture and winemaking experience, he decided to join forces with his sister Cary's unique marketing skills to create their own label and promote and sell their wines.

    Located on the outskirts of Malandreni, near Argos, the estate belongs to Nemea, a viticultural area for wines with a designation of origin (QWPSR/VQPRD), according to Greek law. At an average altitude of 320 meters above sea level, surrounded by steep hills and deep valleys, the soil is sandy clay with unique drainage properties that delay the ripening of the grapes. The region boasts an ideal microclimate (hot during the day, cool and humid at night), ideal for growing local grape varieties with excellent winemaking potential: Agiorgitiko, St. George and Roditis.

    Nemea, located in the northeastern part of the Peloponnese, is the most important red wine appellation in Greece. The mountains and valleys surrounding the small village of Nemea have been producing wine for centuries, mostly from the local grape, Agiorgitiko. This black grape variety produces a wide range of wine styles, from rich, dry wines suitable for aging to light, sweet wines.

    The history of wine cultivation in Nemea dates back to at least the 5th century B.C., although it is difficult to pinpoint the exact date. Wine is also mentioned in Greek mythology about the demigod Hercules, who was sent to Nemea to slay the Nemean Lion. The ancient Greek wine "Fliation" was made in Nemea and called the Blood of Hercules, and is still called by the same name as the wine of Nemea today.
